What is an Angel?
The word angel is thought to be derived from the Greek word "Angelos", which means, "Messenger". In Christian, Muslim, Jewish and other theologies an angel can be one who acts as a messenger, attendant or agent of God/Goddess/Universe...
Angels are spirits without bodies, who possess superior intelligence, gigantic strength, and surpassing holiness.
They are composed of ethereal matter, which allows them to take on whichever physical form best suits their immediate needs.
Angels enjoy an intimate relationship to God as His special adopted children, contemplating, loving and praising Him in heaven. Some angels are frequently sent as a messenger to men.
Angels are the essence of pure unconditional love and joy, and stem from the heart of God/Goddess.
Now you will ask God or Goddess?
Is God male or female?
He is neither and both at the same time. What is referred to as God, is just the Supreme Source of the whole existence, a Spirit of such a magnitude, so unconceivable, that (S)He has no sex and could be both at the same time, if it chooses to. So the reference to God/Goddess was just to emphasize that however you choose to call upon Him/Her, it is of no importance.
How Angels Communicate:
As servants of God or a loving Higher Power, angels are always sending messages to remind us that we’re not alone. Angels are not allowed to overwhelm us with their presence though, as that might frighten us and turn us away from angelic communication. Instead, they communicate in subtle ways, using signs, symbols, and daily events to give us messages which will be uniquely meaningful to us.
Angelic Language
Here are some of the ways that angels can communicate with us:
Through special songs that you suddenly tune into on the radio.
With surprising shapes or rainbows in the clouds.
In little sparkles of golden, silvery, or purple light that you might see at the edges of your physical vision.
Through special dreams of castles, rivers, sunlit corridors and other bright places.
Through animals that put in a sudden appearance (my angels often speak to me through bunnies! Bunnies always appear for me when I need encouragement – even on crowded city streets).
With moments of synchronicity or “cosmic coincidences” where something or someone comes your way in a strange but wonderful fashion, providing a message that you alone need to hear. Pay attention to what is coming towards you, because synchronicities are everywhere. Noticing bumper stickers on the car driving in front of you is an especially fun way to receive messages from your angels.
Guidelines to Specific Angels
In our angel search box you can find out more about angels who can assist you with specific areas of your life. Archangel Michael, for example, packs a powerful punch and can really get more positive energy flowing for you.
Also known as Saint Michael in the Catholic Church, he is considered one of the greatest of all the angels and the protector of spiritual warriors. Michael is a powerful spiritual helper who delivers souls to heaven after death. In his day-to-day service to humanity, Michael also functions as a powerful protector. He can give you feelings of strength and courage and help you overcome your fears. Michael is also powerful against negative people or situations, helping you transmute darkness. Call on Michael when you need protection, strength, or personal stamina.
Invoking Angels
First you say the angel's name three times, then either ask the angel to be with you or you can make a specific request to help you with whatever you are doing or to help someone else. Then complete the invocation by saying the words "In Love and Light" three times, signifying that your intent is honest.
For example, to invoke Michael (Angel of Strength, Protection and Truth) to help you, say the words:
"Michael, Michael, Michael, please be with me now Michael, Michael, Michael, please be with me now in loving white light of the God of Love, Truth and Life, in loving white light of the God of Love, Truth and Life, in loving white light of the God of Love, Truth and Life."
Close your eyes to monitor the response of the angels. This might feel to you like tingling or tickling energy, warmth or a cool breeze on palms, fingers (usually starting in the left, or taking, hand) or around your heart. Sometimes it is felt in the head or body, flowing down the arms or legs. You may smell a perfume or scent that comes and goes, or you may see visions or colours.
Whatever you receive, afterwards, always remember to thank the angels for their help. It may be that you are new to all this and don't feel much to begin with. If this is the case, I urge you to persevere, as the response feels stronger with practice and patience! You will feel more because as you continue to do these invocations your own vibration will gradually rise. This way your vibration will get closer to the vibration of the angels and therefore you gain the ability to feel more.
